18 months!

Today our baby became a big boy! He got to go to nursery. He was very brave! We dropped him off and he ran straight for the toys, so we walked away and watched him through the window of the other down; he pulled out a ball and ran back to where we had been to show daddy his ball. Once he realized we had left him he thought about crying, but he let his nursery teacher hold him and then got distracted by the bubbles. Jennifer said he participated and was a good boy the whole time. We expect it'll be harder to drop him off next week since he'll know what we're doing this time. (side note: he turns 18 months tomorrow on the 23rd, his half birthday is my best friend's birthday! Happy Birthday Melissa!!!). This picture isn't from today, it's a couple of weeks ago, but he basically looks the same, except I cut his hair on Thursday, so it's not all out of control now.

In other news...
We had a fun Super Bowl party with most of Jason's family at our house:

A few Saturdays ago we met my mom and
younger brothers in Glendale and went to a
chocolate festival, which isn't as exciting
as it sounds, but it was fun to hang out
with my family for a few hours. It's so
great to have them live close enough
to do fun stuff on the spur of the moment
now! I think most of the pictures we took
are on my mom's camera, but here's one
of our little Smith family anyway:

My in-laws watched Jack one Friday night while we
went to the movies. I think the 3 of them might have
had even more fun than we did.

Valentines Day was fun. I made cookies for my boys
and Jason got me candy and movies. While Jason
was at school that Saturday morning Jackson and I
went to a baptism. Gayla offered to watch Jack while
Jason and I went to lunch! The rest of the afternoon
we began a new TV series: Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

And we always have fun with our little Jack-Jack!!!

How did that happen? How did Jackson turn 18 months so fast?! Time sure flies!!! I still remember calling you one week after he was born (before your due date) and finding out he was born the EXACT day we moved away...*tears*!

I'm a nursery leader and I LOVE IT!!! I will say, we have MANY tears (read:screaming!) on those first few drop and runs. Sometimes it's rough for the young ones (and Mommy!) but it sounds like Jackson played it out like a champ. I can't wait until KG is 18 months so we can be in nursery together (plus it will make the transition easier for both of us....I hope!). Such fun times!

Yay!!! Congratulations!! You are a free woman for two whole hours every sunday...just wait til he gets sick and you have to keep him. It's a bummer. :( BTW, we love you first pic of Jack. He looks adorable in his church clothes!

holy smokes! You know what I JUST realized?? You CHOPPED your hair! It's darling! I really really like it!!!! It looks very cute on you!

p.s. KG is allowed to come with me to nursery and I have brought her with me a few times but it is super hard because she wants all of my attention at all times. I think 4 months will make a world of difference and she will actually be able to cope with me paying attention to other kids. If not, I guess I will have to move up to the older class (SAD!).

Holy cow! I can't believe little Jackson is in nursery and already 18 months old! Holy cow haha! Where does the time go. He is such a cute little man. You guys are such a wonderful little family. We need to try to get together again sometime Jodi. This time with the husbands too. WE should meet up for dinner or something. I miss you. I love that we can always pick up where we left off with our friendship. :)
