Pregnant with Chandler at 35 weeks....

WELCOME CHANDLER JOSEPH SMITH!!!
Last Monday morning I went in for my weekly doctor visit, I was 36weeks and 4 days along. I hadn't even eaten breakfast, I was just going to have a quick appointment and then go grocery shopping , eat, and do the dishes. The week before I had been dilated to like a half centimeter. Then Monday the nurse checked me and I was almost at 5cm!!! I had tested positive for strep B, so I needed to be on antibiotics for 5 hours before I could have the baby. The nurse told me to get a babysitter for Jack and come back to the hospital to start the antibiotics. So my wonderful sister-in-law Amber took Jack at the last minute and also gave me her list for what to pack for the hospital. I was in shock and don't think I would have even thought to go home and pack if she hadn't reminded me. Jason and I got to the hospital at 10:30am and I started the antibiotics. I was almost at a 6 by then and was just barely starting to feel the contractions. I got my epidural quickly, but it didn't fully work, I could still feel my left leg and the contractions on my lower stomach. A new nurse finally came in to tell me that there was a button I could push to get more medication in the epidural, so after about a half hour that finally started to work, just in time for me to have Chandler. My doctor wasn't able to be there so his partner came and delivered Chandler. He was born March 29, 2010 at 4:51pm. About an hour later his temperature had started to drop, so they took him to the nursery for 3 hours to get him stabilized. So none of Jason's siblings got to see him that night. My mom was there for the delivery and Jason's parents got there soon after so they all got to see him. Jackson wasn't allowed in the hospital, that was so difficult for me. I had never left him over night. Luckily we only ended up staying for one night so we got to see Jackson soon. He is kind of scared of Chandler, I think part of it is because Chandler's arms are out of control and Jackson doesn't like that. He's really careful near him and will give him kisses on the head, but he doesn't like to hold him at all. Chandler so far is a better sleeper than Jack was, only 2 nights this week has he kept me up most of the night, the rest of the times I've been able to sleep 2-4 hours in between feedings. So I'm feeling pretty good! Today was the first day Jason had to go back to work :( We were really spoiled last week getting him home for almost 7 days. WE miss him so much, luckily he doesn't have school tonight!
